Posted by: onyxblade
Video duration: 316 seconds
Global video hits: 31282
A video created by BOB for Plaid (Warp Records - www.warprecords.com) in 2001. Implements found footage and thought-provoking text.
"... Bob, who is responsible for the blazing visuals at the live shows, the piece is eerily prophetic, and has become a firm favourite of audiences worldwide, one fan claiming that the music uplifted them but the video made them feel nervous and ill."

moraly we can see life is something special...so we could do something positive...but still when u look at our nature and what we do we can also just be proud with our destructive nature and get over it EVERYTHING IS BLACK AND WHITE THERE IS NO MIDWAY IN GOOD AND BAD NOTHING WILL BE SOLVED MANY THINGS CAN BE ENJOYED

i have only watched this video once and have only read a few comments but this video doesn't seem to be about vegetarianism but greed. they sell the meat and then want more and more.

Iam a vegetarian by money^^ Meat is easily to expensive and not necessary enough to be eaten by me ;) Its only a shame, that Plaid doesnt perform more tracks like this one, this is, what i heard of them, really the best song. I wish there would be more, even that criticizing! :) Would be great! Go on with this "intellectual discussion" its nice to read something what's worth being remebered here on youtube :P

Dietary sources of vitamin D are rare. Most of us get it from the sun :) Vegetarians may eat some dairy products or soy. :) hope this helps

An intellectual conversation on YouTube? Wtf?
By: KristofskiKabuki. on 17 Dec 08, 23:58:37
I don't want to go into why people may choose not to eat meat here, I was responding to your comments that not eating meat is somehow bad. You claimed that as it was natural for acient humans to hunt and eat meat that people should eat meat now. But we live in completley differet times, and the way our meat is produced is about as far from that as you can get. If you want to know the enviromental and humanitarian costs of the meat industry there are pleanty of websites that can fill you in.

No you are straying away from the item. But please tell me, why should people don't eat meat?
By: KristofskiKabuki. on 17 Dec 08, 18:34:36
The first humans on earth also lived in mud huts and died of flu and in childbirth. They also didn't have toothbrushes, cars or the internet. Things change!
By: JonThorBirgisson. on 17 Dec 08, 17:11:44
And if the first humans on earth ate flesh, why won't we? It's unethic to NOT eat flesh.
By: JonThorBirgisson. on 17 Dec 08, 17:11:00
Eating flesh is a habit taught very long ago. Do want to eat a rabbit or 2 nuts? The choice is very easily made, because the flesh is far more nutrient. This habit stayed and that's why we eat flesh.

Human's physiolgy hasn't really chaged since way before we started using tools to catch prey. All the evolution since then has been in the brain. Even if our bodies had evoloved, it would have been very counter productive to de-evolve in such a way that limited us to having to eat meat. If someone chooses not to eat meat it is totally possible to do so without missing out on any nutriants.
By: JonThorBirgisson. on 17 Dec 08, 09:43:45
We humans made that breakthrough a very long time ago. This is what separates us from apes.
By: JonThorBirgisson. on 17 Dec 08, 09:42:02
Because there is a thing called evolution. Because we humans are smart enough to wear a spear we don't need giant . And because we can use these tools, our body is made to digest things we can eat. Take a cow for example, this animal is totally made to eat grass. All the different stomachs it has are only for digesting grass. He only eats grass because he can't eat anything else. But if a cow gets smarter and it can eat something else (prey) his whole body will change to eat the new food.
By: KristofskiKabuki. on 17 Dec 08, 00:56:48
Then why is it that humans are pretty much incapable of catching and killing anything without using a tool of some sort?

This video is one of my favourite things ever, fact. The music fits it so well also. Really, I love Plaid, but this is more music for the video than a video for the music...

Well, vitamin D is mostly produced when we are exposed to UV rays. Some comes from food, but it's pretty rare. Most every other vitamin comes from minerals that are sourced ultimately from the ground and then taken in by ingesting vegetation. Iron comes mostly from green vegetables such as cabbage, spinach, and other vitamins are present in fruit. We don't have to eat animals, and there are those of us that don't.
