@kamakanimololani I understand how Hawai'i Creole Pidgin is different than English due to influences from other languages, but it's still a form of English, which is drastically different than Hawaiian itself. In my country, there is a certain way that people speak English as well and has influences from other languages, but it's still considered English, while the indigenous language and other languages are referred to by their respective names. Drastic differences.

@kamakanimololani The way my ex-wife's family described things was that as long as you had Hawaiian blood in you, you had the right to call yourself Hawaiian. Everyone else who claimed it, but had no Hawaiian blood in them, were only jumping on the bandwagon and didn't have the right to claim something they never had an association with in the first place.

@fijikid80 they're defining the word in the "American train of thought and definition". The true Hawaiian definitions are 1. "Kanaka Maoli"=pure aboriginal descent. 2. "Hapa"=partial descent. and 3. "Hawaiian"=national identity regardless of race/ethnicity. The American definition of Hawaiian is aboriginals of 50% or more blood quantum.

If you travel around, you will see that Copenhagen really does have a lousy selection of restaurants compared to cities in other countries. Cantonese came first. Cantonese was the first Chinese language. Mandarin was created to simplify Chinese, as it is less complicated in both written and verbal forms. However, I am a bit offended by your former discourse that simplification of Chinese charaters is a kind of progress. In Taiwan we use traditional Chinese characters rather than simplified ones, largely because the former are more beautiful and meaningful in terms of etymology. There are pros and cons. Unnecessary complexity doesn't make a language 'better' or 'superior'. In fact, it shows a lack of evolution. Even Chinese script has a modern form in order to make the language more accessible and less cumbersome to use/learn. Though it's still far too finicky a form of communication to ever become world standard. Why wouldn't it be Kosher? Chicken, extremely hot spices and herbs are plant life, all long as it's not cook in lard, I don't see that kosher issue. Unless the chicken is cooked in the same vats and pans as pork. There may be some parve issues, but that's not the same thing.
