i gota agree!.. it needs at least 350 horses with the stock boost it has now...... but the 5 speed isnt too bad.. the good thing about 5 speeds over 6 is 5 speeds can be stronger since each gear is a bit bigger and has more space.. therefore you get a bit more mph in each gear but through every shift, a 5 speed goes a little lower in the power band than a 6...... its really what the person likes, i wouldnt mind a 5 although i do prefer a 6... ima just go 6 speed auto with an MR tho =/

I completely agree. The GT-R is a true value when you consider its competition. And like I said its a bit faster than the 2 I mentioned. You hit the nail dead on....its personal preference.

The general opinion is that the Camaro w/ the independent rear is the best followed by the Mustang and far behind is the Challenger. I would love this car if it just handled at all. For a GM guy I love the looks of this car the best but the driveability just isn't there.

i agree, you cannot say the whole country is cheap based on a single factor. Fuel, Taxes, and general cost of food are certainly rougher than US. On a side note, the quality of food at grocery store (say Tesco's) are better than US too. (unbiased view as i'm a citizen from neither country.)

@justinaurelius I dont know about ASUS laptops, but I know ASUS makes pretty much the BEST motherboards you can buy. Iv owned alot of them. And I wouldnt buy a motherboard from anyone but ASUS. But yes, HP does make pretty shitty laptops. Sony Vaios are pretty amazing, I have a Vaio from 1999 that still works, the touchpad doesnt work anymore and the battery is useless but other than that it works fine.

Rumour has it that TVR is coming back. This time with american V8s (chevy or ford or whatever). They'll have less character than the british straight-6s but at least they'll be reliable. Are there any small volume manufacturers left who make their own engines? Ferrari, McLaren, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini.... Are there any more? The Bugatti Veyron has a bespoke engine but it comes in a crate from VW.

In terms of shear driving performance an SSC aero will shame a Veyron. Unless you've actually seen one in person then shut your mouth I've seen a brand new SSC aero at an auto show in Las Vegas and spoke with actuall SSC engineers there. Sure its not as luxurious as the Veyron but when you buy 1000+hp car and luxury comes to your mind then something is seriously wrong with you. The Sixteen however was just a technolgy and engineering showcase for Cadillac.

4wd does beat fwd cars even driving a circle like gymkhana and being on snow, theoretically they should have the same grip cause its g-force on 4wheels, but if the 4wd does any powerslide its bye bye for front wheel drive. We tested this with my friend, he drove his Evo9 on snow, and I drove a chrysler neon that weighs 240kg less (should have better weight/side grip on snow tyres) but he was way faster when drifting, couldnt keep up at all:)

I use foof ad-blocker. Firefox add-on, works like a charm. It's still a beta I think, so it's not always that great; on a site crammed with ads it'll only get about 70%. But it gets those 70% and i'm happy it does. I'd recommend it =)

Well, I mean the BBC wouldn't want to NOT warn people about a storm and it then coming, killing people with the cold. Better safe than sorry, is their policy. This happened a few years ago in Sweden. It was summer and the national weather forecasters, SMHI, didn't predict much - and a TERRIBLE storm racked the country, killing a WHOLE lot of people out in boats. Ever since then, the SMHI now predicts insane storms and what ends up coming is a small breath of wind. They don't want to be sued.

I agree, you are stupid if you buy this car, BUT, that's if you have no idea of how to maintain a rotary-powered vehicle. Generally modern engines are rebuilt at around 100-120km, NOT replaced. That's not too bad, really. If you manage to clock up that kind of mileage in a car as a thirsty as this in a short time frame then clearly fuel consumption is an irrelevant issue.

The way it sounds, the gearbox, the way the handling tells you well in advance, the way the rpm resonates so beautifully throughout the car, etc etc. I spent the last 2 months drifting it in the snow like a pro - only thanks to it's creamy power delivery. Oh, - and the doors, it's Something for those that like things a lil' unique. The later models addressed the issues of the early models posted here.

g8-gxp for sure. my ion ss is another. Around 2000 Saturn Ions were made with the 2.4L out of the the Cobalt SS-NA (also rare) between 2005 and 2006. Even less were 5-speed gearboxes in sedan form. Very quick car for its price range, and handles almost as well as 2010 Cobalt turbocharged SS (best handling fwd available for under 25k)

In the 70s, the Porsche 911 was winning everything in racing. So BMW came up with a racing car to try and beat them - the M1. It was the first, and so far only, ever mid engined BMW. Lamborghini were helping them, but halfway through they went bust. So BMW had to start again with some other people. And while it was being designed, the rules for racing were changed, so by the time it came out, it wasn't competitive. The M1 was a complete flop. I think it will be a Future Classic.

Agree with you on the Honda S2000, but I don't think the Hummer will become a classic - that's rare because it's rubbish. I think the Honda NSX and the BMW M1 will become classics - they're rare, good looking and have an interesting story.
